Are you a battery or an extension cord?

In a recent meeting Gary encouraged the group to be attentive to our personal devotional time, that we need to be careful not to rely solely on our own strength but to seek empowerment from God. I had a vision of  a battery and an extension cord, and the difference between them.
Both are used to provide energy in a situation, but the battery’s life is limited, it will eventually be exhausted and be of no use. The extension cord on the other hand can provide power continually as long as it remains plugged into the outlet. As we go through our day let’s be sure that we are plugged into God through thanksgiving, worship, Bible reading and prayer. We can then be confident that we will have power for whatever situation we encounter because we are plugged into the ultimate source of power, wisdom, and grace.
